This special Martin Script Acoustic Guitar was born in 2006. That was the period when Martin brought together its Authentic line and the Custom Shop. It was the first time the Custom Shop truly stood apart as its own dedicated production area. Going deeper, it was a program to produce the finest possible guitars in very limited numbers, only 17 instruments split across 3 lines for certain top-tier dealers. They were built with every bit of the finest craft available at the time, specifically: -Top: Italian Alpine Spruce (Premium) -Top bracing: Sitka/Scalloped 1/4" -Top finish layering: .042" B/M/B Fiber/.066" Poly/.042" B/M/B Fiber -Side purfling: European Flamed Maple -Top purfling: pearl inlay around the perimeter -Soundhole rosette: inlaid with maple and ebony fiber, combined with select pearl and abalone -Back: Highly Figured Sapele (one of the most stable woods from Africa, with a noble beauty) -Fingerboard: premium black Ebony. – Headstock: inlaid from 27 strands of pearl – Logo: CF Martin Script, select abalone – Tuners: Waverly in regal gold
