Description
The José Ramírez 1A has long been regarded as one of the greatest concert classical guitars ever produced. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, it became the benchmark for professional performers worldwide and was closely associated with legendary artists including Andrés Segovia, Christopher Parkening, Julian Bream, Laurindo Almeida, and many others. Built in Madrid during one of Ramírez's most celebrated periods, this 1979 Primera (1A) represents the mature evolution of the famous Ramírez concert design. Its combination of premium Western Red Cedar and exceptional Brazilian Rosewood produces a voice that is both warm and powerful, with extraordinary sustain, rich harmonic complexity, and commanding projection. The traditional 664 mm Ramírez scale offers remarkable dynamic range and a distinctive Spanish character that fills large concert halls with ease while maintaining exceptional responsiveness under the player's hands. Today, vintage Ramírez 1A guitars featuring Brazilian Rosewood have become increasingly difficult to find, making well-preserved examples highly desirable among collectors and professional musicians alike. This guitar is currently available in excellent vintage condition at our showroom. Worldwide shipping is available.
