Products/Jose Ramirez 1A 1981 (Brazilian RoseWood). (1981)

Description

"Ramirez" — the legendary Spanish maker of premium classical guitars across many generations. They surely possess a depth of history and experience that is more enviable and admirable than any other whenever the name comes up. Their instruments have been, and still are, played by some of the greatest guitarists in the world, such as Julian Bream, Andres Segovia, Laurindo Almeida, Oscar Ghiglia, Jose Luis Gonzales and many others. As such, the Ramirez dynasty, now spanning five generations, is an essential element in the history of classical guitar making. It began with Jose Ramirez I (1858-1923), who trained many guitar makers in his workshop in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Among these illustrious luthiers were Enrique Garcia, Julian Gomez Ramirez, Antonio Viudes and many others. He was followed by José Ramirez II (1885-1957), José Ramirez III (1922-1995), José Ramirez IV (1953 – 2000) and Amalia Ramirez (1955 – present). This absolutely exquisite José Ramirez 1A was built in 1981 in the legendary Madrilean workshop. It has a cedar soundboard, with back and sides of rare Brazilian rosewood — a timeless combination producing a warm, powerful and rich sound. The 650mm scale length gives the tone superb responsiveness. The voice is harmonious, always brimming with a sweet, lingering resonance — in other words, a richness of tone. We are truly fortunate to have this guitar at our store. It has been preserved in flawless condition from 1981 to the present, with everything intact. Quite irresistible, isn't it?
